GROTON, Conn.- Staff at Naval Submarine Base (SUBASE) New London’s Child Development Center recently painted anchors on the sidewalk outside the facility to promote physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Ensuring we do not increase any undue risk on our Sailors and their mission is critical. As the Navy and SUBASE look at stages of our re-opening of services, support, and activities, the safety and security of military and civilian members of our team and their families remain our first priority,” said Capt. Todd Moore, SUBASE New London commanding officer. “Base services, activities, and opportunities will be re-instated in a careful and deliberate manner, keeping the safety of our personnel in mind throughout.”

SUBASE New London and its activities continue to implement measures such as physical distancing and requiring the wearing of facial coverings in support of COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
