Intro to 3D Design and Printing

Mike Molinari from Spark Makerspace, New London, will lead the class in the design features and functions of cloud-based 3D printing with the new software, Autodrop3D at Ledyard’s Bill LIbrary. If you have a laptop and an external mouse, please bring them to this class. A few laptops will be provided by the Library. Space is limited, registration is required. Dates are: Feb. 4 and March 23 at 6:15 p.m.

Matinee Mondays

Matinees will be shown at the Bill Library on Mondays in January and February at 1:50 p.m. Light refreshments will be available. Registration is not necessary. Walk ins are welcome. Dates are: Jan. 13 and 27; and Feb. 10 and 24.

American Presidents Book Discussion group

The American Presidents Book Discussion group at the Gales Ferry Library will continue to focus on the White House years of former American presidents in 2020. Facilitators will discuss the triumphs and trials American Presidents faced, and how lessons learned can be applied to our modern era.

Please note: Completion of the book selection is not a prerequisite for attending, only a recommendation. The discussion is open to those who are simply curious about the topic. This program is a collaborative effort of the Ledyard Library and the Friends of the Ledyard Library.

The group will discuss Harry S. Truman on Jan. 14; John Tyler, Feb. 11; and Woodrow Wilson, March 10 at 7 p.m.

Build a Skin-On-Frame Sea Kayak 

Brian Cronin will present what he learned from building a kayak for his daughter, and for community members, who would like to know how to do the same, Jan. 14 in the Bill Library, at 6:30 p.m.

Genealogy Club

The Genealogy Club at Ledyard’s Bill Library, led by Marty Hubbard, is geared for those who want to begin genealogy research as well as for those members, who would like to continue their search. Different research strategies, and electronic or print sources are shared. This club is open to anyone, who has an interest in the subject. Come to discuss, ask questions, or listen. The club meets on the third Wednesday of the month (Jan. 15, Feb. 19, and March 18) at 7 p.m.

Fly Tying for Everyone: A Series of workshops

Anyone ages 8 and up can learn about the basic tools and techniques needed to successfully tie flies from the Thames Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited at the Bill Library, Saturdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Participants will participate in creating their own flies in a series of four workshops. Each workshop is progressive. All supplies included. Dates are Jan. 18 and 25, Feb. 1 and 8. Register online as space is limited.

Adult Coloring series

The Bill Library in Ledyard welcomes everyone to join them for a relaxing and creative evening of coloring for adults, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. All supplies are provided. Light refreshments will be available. Walk ins are welcome. Upcoming adult coloring events will take place Feb. 5 and March 16 at 6 p.m.

BOGO Book and Media Sale

The Book Cellar (Gales Ferry Library, 18 Hurlbutt Road and Bill Library, Ledyard Center), will hold a BOGO sale, Feb. 24 through 29 during regular library hours. Used books, CDs, DVDs, and puzzles. Purchase one item and get a second item of equal or lower price free. Prices will range from 10 cents to $2. Sponsored by the Friends of the Ledyard Libraries.
