GROTON, Conn. - The Bill Memorial Library (BML) in the City of Groton, is proud to invite the community to a Website Premiere Party for the BML Chapter of Girls Who Code, June 4 at 4 pm.
Girls Who Code is a computer programming club for girls in grades 6-12 that empowers girls to pursue skills and careers in the field of computer science and close the gender gap in technology careers.
The Bill Memorial Library chapter has designed and coded a website meant to better our community. At the premiere, club members will describe their project, the impact the website has on the community, and the mission of Girls Who Code. Join us as we celebrate the achievements of these young computer programmers.

NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. - On the second Saturday of each month: June 8, Wheeler Library in North Stonington invites children of all ages and their grown-ups to spend time reading to Phantom the Therapy Dog between 11 a.m. and noon. Phantom is a Bernese Mountain Dog certified with The Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs, a nonprofit 501(c)3, all-volunteer organization which evaluates, tests, trains, and qualifies owners and their well-behaved dogs as therapy dog teams. Phantom provides a relaxing environment for children and adults. Each person will have about ten minutes of individual time with Phantom. Free and open to the public. Space is limited. MYSTIC, Conn. - QuickBooks: Advanced and Hands-On is an extended follow-up workshop that will compare features of QuickBooks Desktop versus QuickBooks Online. We will set up a QuickBooks Desktop company from scratch, reviewing the setup preferences and decisions along the way. If time permits, we will also view preferences for a QuickBooks Online company to help those users understand their options as well. Attendees are asked to bring their laptops with QuickBooks loaded.
This workshop will take place June 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mystic & Noank Library and will be presented by Elizabeth Santaus. Santaus has over 28 years of experience in the bookkeeping industry. She currently presents seminars in conjunction with SCORE.
