Plein Aire Painters exhibit

The Plein Aire Painters is the title of an exhibit that features artwork by the members of the Stonington-based Loose Association of Plein Air Artists.

They are a group of painters who work in the open air, capturing the effects of light and atmosphere in oils, pastel, and watercolor.

The show will feature landscapes celebrating scenery in Stonington, Mystic, and more, with an emphasis on the beauty of nature throughout the year in Southeastern Connecticut.

Young Engineers Club

The Young Engineers' Club (YEC) is a fun program hosted by the Mystic & Noank Library that aims to encourage tweens ages 10 and up to become technology creators!

This class, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon, will cover Basic Arduino Microcontroller programming. Students will learn the basics of C coding and electronics in Tinkercad. We will also prototype basic programs on actual Arduino boards. Students should bring a laptop if they have one and parents are encouraged to sign up for a free Tinkercad ac count for their child to access https://www.tinkercad.com/.

Networking workshop

They say it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. Join Michael Whitehouse, publisher of Groton-Mystic Neighbors and author of "The Guy Who Knows a Guy," for a fun and interactive workshop, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m., discussing some of the basics of networking, navigating networking events, and some great strategies for building a strong network of your own.

This program is free and open to the public; no registration is required.
