Roll into reading on Star Wars Reads Day!

The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton invites Jedi and Sith of all ages to celebrate Star Wars Reads Day, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature Star Wars˗themed activities, crafts and snacks as well as a “photo booth” for selfies. There will be freebies for the kids while supplies last. Discover all the amazing Star Wars titles in our collection; we will have books with all your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away on display and available to check out. Cosplay is encouraged! Visitors dressed in a Star Wars costume will receive a free book and have their picture posted on our Facebook page. Stop by and celebrate reading and all things Star Wars! Afterschool Art presented by Lyman Allyn Art Museum

The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton invites children in grades 1 through 5 to the first in a monthly series of Afterschool Art presented by the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, Oct. 10 from 4 to 5 p.m. Learn about beautiful, colorful Tiffany glass! Children will be able to view examples of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s stunning leaded glass windows and lamps before painting their own “stained glass” window.
